EUR/USD closed slightly lower today. As of 6:00 PM EDT the pair was trading at 1.1371, which is 0.12% lower than the previous close.

  • DJIA closed at 17,928.35, up 1.26%.
  • Nasdaq Composite rose 1.26% finishing at 4,809.88.
  • S&P 500 closed at 2,084.39, which is 1.25% above the previous close.

According to the report from the Labor Department, the US job openings rose in March to the highest level since July 2015. Job openings increased 149,000 to a seasonally adjusted 5.8 million, which lifted the jobs opening rate to 3.9%. “The data generally remain upbeat and it does not look like there has been any material weakening in the health of the labor market lately” said Daniel Silver from JPMorgan in New York.

Oil prices gradually increased throughout the day. The WTI Crude closed at 44.66 USD/bbl, up 2.81%. Brent Crude was trading at 45.51 USD/bbl, which is 4.31% higher than the previous close.

According the Saudi Aramco’s CEO the company is expected to continue increasing its output to meet the growing demand, stating that he expects the prices to rise in 2017.

“Supply and demand will come into balance by the end of the year, or first quarter next year. Prices will trend higher when that happens. Our strategy is to meet the [demand] on Saudi Aramco. If it means we need to increase our output, we will do it.” said Amin Nasser, the CEO of the kingdom’s state-owned oil company.
