EUR/USD at 1.1315. Brent price rose again to $43.

EUR/USD slightly rose today. As of 6:00 PM EDT the pair was trading at 1.1315, which is 0.17% higher than the previous close.

  • Nasdaq Composite rose 0.44% finishing at 4,960.02.
  • S&P 500 closed the session at 2,094.34, which is 0.65% higher than the previous close.


William Dudley, the New York Fed President reported today that the US economic conditions are mostly favorable, but Fed remains cautious concerning the interest rate hikes. “Policy adjustments are likely to be gradual and cautious, as we continue to face significant uncertainties and the headwinds to growth from the financial crisis have not fully abated.” said Dudley.

Oil prices had a volatile session today. They dropped more than 7% during Asian hours but rebounded quickly during European session. The WTI Crude closed at 39.78 USD/bbl, which is 1.44% lower than the previous close. Brent Crude was trading at 43.19 USD/bbl as of 5:28 PM EDT, which represents a 0.21% increase from the previous close.

The Doha meeting on Sunday gave no results on cooperative production freeze, as Saudi Arabia demanded the participation of Iran. But Iran have no plans to cut the production and continues to increase its output after the sanction were lifted.

“As we’re not going to sign anything, and as we’re not part of the decision to freeze output, we ultimately decided it was not necessary to send a representative,” reported the Iranian government.
