European trading session summary Jan 14

EUR/USD pair traded today in a range of 1.0836-1.0945 (as of 5 pm GMT). It hit 1.0945 almost reaching the weekly highest point of 1.0969 achieved on Monday, however it sharply declined thereafter to its daily lowest price of 1.0836 before the end of European session. It closes at 1.0861 (end of European session), which is 0.19% lower compared to its previous close of 1.0882.

Though the EUR/USD pair showed some gain during the day, the general trend of weakening Euro is still present. The reason of this can be the announcement of ECB minutes, according to which there is a possibility of more rate cuts and also the worries about the Eurozone economy.
